Eczema

Eczema is a chronic, non-infectious, inflammatory skin disease marked by itching, rashes, weeping, and alternating flare-ups and remissions. It most commonly affects the face, hands, and feet, but can involve any skin area.

Main forms of eczema:

• Idiopathic (true) eczema: symmetric lesions, blisters, erosions, severe itching.
• Microbial eczema: develops around chronic wounds and abrasions.
• Mycotic eczema: caused by fungal infections.
• Occupational eczema: affects exposed skin in hazardous workplaces.
• Dyshidrotic eczema: localized on palms and soles.
• Seborrheic eczema: develops in oily skin areas.
• Childhood eczema: pronounced exudation, often affects the face, risk of infection.

Causes and risk factors:
Genetic predisposition, allergies, immune disorders, stress, irritants, chronic diseases, improper skin care.

Symptoms:
Redness, different types of rashes, itching, cracks, weeping, painful ulcers, dryness, and flaking after flares.
